Attorney Lawrence A. Terra is a highly trained and professionally diverse law enforcement officer, admitted to legal practice in the state of Connecticut. He has served as a command level Connecticut state trooper, a federal law enforcement officer and now as a municipal police department, administrator. Lawrence Terra also serves as a certified Police Officer Standards and Training Council legal trainer and an associate college professor at Post University.

In his 28 years of law enforcement, Attorney Terra has investigated or supervised police use of force investigations, police misconduct, criminal police violations and corruption. He has also worked closely with municipal governments in the analysis and resolution of internal issues relating to violations of policy, hiring processes, termination procedures, and established employment standards. Practice areas also include corporate investigations, liability evaluation and risk mitigation.

As an associate professor, Attorney Terra provides college level instruction in the areas of Criminal Justice, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Law and Strategic Planning for Law Enforcement Agencies.

Connecticut Police Officers and Standards and Training Council has granted Attorney Terra certification to provide instruction in all police related legal training areas identified by the Police Academy. He provides civil liability training, legal update training to 24 law enforcement agencies and is frequently requested to facilitate community based discussions and lectures related to historical and current issues facing law enforcement.

Lawrence A. Terra received his B.S., cum laude from Excelsior College, and his J.D. from the Massachusetts School of Law. He has been admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut and is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
